My Personal and Chiropractic Manifesto

Dear Practice Members and public-at-large,

All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his practice.  I would like to change that.

My full name is Kori Mortenson and I'm from Canby, Minnesota (a small town near Marshall).  I went to college at Moorhead State University (MSU) located in Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Physical Education.  After that I went to chiropractic school at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota.  I graduated in 1998.

My newest passion is Argentine tango.  I've been dancing for two and a half years.  Now I travel for tango festivals, learning more and dancing socially.  This passion has also led me to travel to Argentina (the birth place of tango) for intensive training.  I love the outdoors particularly during the summer when I can be out on the water kayaking.  I also enjoy running.  I’ve run 6 marathons and many half-marathons, 10k’s and 5 k’s.  While I was in college I participated on the MSU cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams.  Other hobbies I enjoy are rock climbing, tennis, playing and listening to music, photography and working on my house.

I originally decided to be a Chiropractor because of the recommendation of my college advisor and subsequently had a very good experience with some health issues (severe low back pain) I was experiencing while training for a marathon and migraines I had experienced since I was a child.  I’ve chosen to devote my life to the healing arts because I have a passion to help people live life to the fullest and be as healthy as they can be.  I am grateful I did so because I’ve seen some miraculous recoveries from health conditions where people weren’t given much hope.  I’ve seen people get well without the use of drugs and surgeries and perform at their best on the job, in school and in their athletic pursuits.  I believe with all my heart in the principles of chiropractic which are; there is an inborn wisdom which organizes and runs the body.  The body uses the nerve system to do that.  A body with a good nerve supply is always better off than one with a poor nerve supply.

I believe with all my heart in how I practice and always strive to improve it.  I believe I give an excellent service for a fair fee.  I want to help people.  I want you to refer and continue to refer people to me because it is my goal to help as many people as I can to unleash their incredible health and healing potential.  The whole purpose of this office is to be a caring, nurturing, safe haven for people to either regain or expand their health and a place where people can come to learn more about natural healthcare.  What seems to make this practice unique is the personal approach to health, the healing environment and my ability to listen to what you have to say.  My personal promise to you is that you will be fully informed about chiropractic and how I can best help you so you can make an informed decision about your health and the health of your family.

Yours for the best in all of us,
